In the quaint town of Richland, Washington, Jared’s dream job at the Hanford Nuclear Site brings about an exciting change for his family. As they eagerly await their new home to be finished, they find themselves residing in temporary accommodations right across the street from a reclusive, mysterious neighbor – a witch.
Review: In “Witchland,” There’s Danger in What Lies Beneath
It might seem odd (at least to non-horror fans) to describe a play featuring catastrophic illness, tragic loss, and a “dead baby cemetery” as great fun, but the socially conscious scares of Witchland certainly earn that designation.
NEW YORK – Witchland at the Chain Theatre.
Tonight’s theatric offering was billed as a play depicting the town of Richland, Washington, as “the most toxic place in the Western Hemisphere.” Here, as part of the Manhattan Project during World War II, the United States developed nuclear weapons, produced plutonium, and continued work in the late 1980s.
